Priss: Alors, vous avez déjà dit que vous aimiez les groupes comme Linkin Park et Enigma. Les avez-vous vu en live? Et comment vous sentez-vous quand vous êtes observateur plutôt que d'être sur scène?

Satsuki: J'écoute toujours dans ma chambre les CDs. Mais j'y suis allé une seule fois. Il montre son doigt. Linkin Park au Japon. Et j'aime énormément, yeah. Oh, my English skill, up, ja! Il lève ses pouces vers le haut. Les fans acclament et applaudissent. Je peux comprendre! Le staff s'approche de Satsuki et traduise le reste de la question. En tant qu'artiste, ils chantent vraiment bien. Mais je ne peux pas chanter aussi bien. Les fans poussent un faible "aww~" Beaucoup d'artistes chantent très bien et sont très populaires. Fan: Je voudrais savoir, quand allez-vous sortir un nouvel album? Et si vous allez le faire, sera-t-il disponible ici aux Etats-Unis? Ou aura-t-il aucun moyen pour l'acheter au EU?

Satsuki: En ce moment je fais une nouvelle chanson. Je vais probablement la sortir du iTunes aussi. Donc tout le monde peut les acheter sur iTunes store. Donc je veux en sortir partout dans le monde. J'essaye d'en sortir en Amérique.

Fan: Ça vous manque d'être dans RENTER EN SOI?

Satsuki: Oui, ça me manque. Tous les jours.

Satsuki: Vraiment... Hmm... Meilleurs amis, mes membres. Il se pointe lui même. Je ne me sens pas triste. Mais ça me manque tous les jours. Puis Satsuki regarde le staff. Fan: Dans le passé, j'ai vu vos vidéos promotionnelles de PV.

Satsuki: Quelle chanson?

Fan: Beaucoup, j'en ai vu beaucoup. [...] Ma question porte sur votre spiritualité, et Kabala. Satsuki penche sa tête sur le côté, pas sûr. Comme la chanson... Ah, je suis nerveux. Satsuki souris, et les fans rient gentiment. Je vois l'arbre de la vie à plusieurs reprises dans les vidéos de RENTRER EN SOI. Puis-je vous demander en quelle spiritualité croyez-vous, et si je peux en apprendre plus à ce sujet? Est-ce Kabala?

Satsuki: Je crois toujours au coeur des fans. Donc, pas de religion.

Fan: Quel sera le nom de votre prochain nouvel album?

Satsuki: Ah, je n'ai pas encore décidé. Désolé. Quelque chose comme "Moon".

Satsuki: Le design est de moi, pour le style... Connais-tu "shitsuji? Shitsuji en Japonais. Il se lève et montre l’ensemble de son profil. Les fans sont séduit et applaudissent. Fan: Comment Kisaki a decidé de vous choisir pour son projet? Pouvez-vous nous dire quelque chose à propos des lives?

Satsuki: Déjà des choses ont été decidé pour le prochain live, mais pour le moment, c’est secret. Avez-vous vu la video live de ce projet? Très bien.

Les fans rient.

Fan: Après la convention, avez-vous l’intention d’aller visiter quelque chose, comme peut-être visiter New York? Où allez-vous juste retourner au Japon?

Satsuki: Je vais probablement aller chez Tomo et faire des chansons. Et prendre de nouvelles photos. Et je veux faire un nouveau pv avec Tomo, alors… Je ne veux pas retourner au Japon. Il sourit timidement.

Fan: I would like to learn to sing. Do you have any tips for people, just starting out to sing? Good ways to learn to sing?

Satsuki: “Believe myself.” Nods.

Fan: Are you inspired by any type of music in America? Or any band?

Satsuki: Yes. Linkin Park. But I like American drama. For example, “Ghost”, “Prison Break”, “Supernatural”. Fans cheer. Famous! I was watch, and listening practice. Yes. Too difficult. He makes gibberish sounds, pretending to be the actors in the drama: “rawr rawr rawr”. Then, back as himself, watching the said drama, with his hand beside his ear to hear better. What? What? Fan: How long have you been in the music business?

Satsuki: About… 15 years. Hmm, from… 10 years かな。(or 10 years, huh?) Right. Nods.

Fan: Your birthday, is it this Sunday, June 10th?

Satsuki: In Japanese to the translator. 違うの。(It’s wrong.) June 10? No, no.

Fan: No? Wrong information online. Thank you.

Another fan: Happy birthday anyway! Fans says “Yes!” and Satsuki nods and smiles.

Priss: This is more like a fun question. You wear dresses beautifully. If you could be a woman for a single day, would you do it? And why? And what would you do?

Fans laugh.

Satsuki: Yes, sure! Why not? Translator asks the rest of the question. Take off clothes. He opens his collar, pretends to take off his shirt. Fans laugh. My jealousy.

Fans laugh.

Translator: He says, don’t be embarrassed, don’t be disappointed.

Another fan: That’s so cool!

Satsuki motions an “ahh” with his mouth, smilingly.

Translator: He says he answered very honestly.

Fan: What is your favourite j-rock band?

Satsuki: Ah! Hmmmm.. He thinks extensively. Only one? He points a finger up.

Fan: Or as many as you want to tell us.

Fans laugh.

Satsuki: Okay. I like many, many favourite bands. For example.. He counts them with his fingers. RENTRER EN SOI, ne. And RENTRER EN SOI. Fans laugh. Ah okay, I remember: RENTRER EN SOI. Fans laugh.

Another fan: Have you heard of Mix Speaker’s, Inc.? The Visual kei band?

Satsuki: Yes, I know. I have heard. Good, good!

Fan: Were you inspired by them at all?

Satsuki: 衣装がすごい。(The costumes are amazing.) Costumes are great.

Fan: What are your favourite brands? Or, what are your favourite places to shop?

Satsuki: Alexander McQueen. Unn, unn. I like.

Another fan: Sugoi!

Satsuki: Why? Why “sugoi”?

That fan: Cuz he’s amazing!

Fan: Do you have a favourite anime?

Satsuki: Hmm. What’s this? He points to a drawing of a Dragonball character on the board and fans laugh. What anime?

Fan: Dragonball.

Satsuki: Dragonball? Vegeta? Fans laugh. So… Spongebob. Fans laugh. [Satsuki says something while the fans were still laughing, so I’m not sure] My [somebody, maybe “promoter”] said, “Spongebob is just in. You should watch.” Ohh okay. I like it.

Another fan: I’ll watch the ending again just cuz you said that.

Fans laugh.

Fan: Do you know any French? And if so, can you speak French?

Satsuki: Oh. Ça va? (How are you?) S’il-vous-plaît? (Please?) Bonjour. (Hello.) Au revoir. (Goodbye.) RENTRER EN SOI. He smiles and claps at the end. Fans cheer and laugh throughout.

Fan: How did Kisaki decide to choose you for his next project (and something about the live)?

Satsuki: Already decided for next live, but now, it’s secret. Have you seen the live video of his project? So good.

Fans laugh.

Fan: After the convention, are you planning on going sightseeing anywhere else, like maybe visiting New-York? Or are you just going straight back to Japan?

Satsuki: Probably I will go to Tomo’s house and make song. And take new photo. And I want to make new PV with Tomo, so… I don’t want to go to Japan. He smiles shyly and fans says "Aww". Because I love America.

Fans: Awww~

Satsuki: He applauds. And Canada!

Priss: It’s been a while since you made New Age type of music. Do you intend on writing more New Age type of music?

Translator: He’s only concerned about making songs that are lively in concerts. So he’s not too sure about the whole genre of New Age and such.

Fan: Are you hoping to star in other movies in the future?

Satsuki: Yes I want to. I try to challenge.

Fan: What is your favourite alcohol?

Satsuki: White wine. Sparkle wine? Ne. Pause, about to pick another question. Ah! Jokingly. No, I mean, black. Cuz today’s too dark. I’m vampire. Fans laugh.

Fan: Why did you start liking Visual style?

Satsuki: He thinks. Hmm. Difficult question. Pauses. In my childhood, I liked X Japan, I liked Luna Sea, and also Kuroyume. So my favourite artists, makeup. Gestures towards the eyes. So, influence, strong influence.

Fan: Would you consider the band KISS Visual kei? With the makeup and everything?

Satsuki: Ah, I know. [He means, he knows KISS.] Translator asks the rest of the question. Ohh. I don’t know. He smiles shyly. Metal?

Fan: Would you ever consider doing a live music album, say, in New Jersey?

Fans laugh.

Satsuki: Ah, いや。(No.) Japanです。Japanです。

Fan: Would you ever consider doing a concert tour across the US?

Satsuki: Ah yes, I want to!

Satsuki: Sure.

Satsuki: In Japanese, pointing at my friend sitting next to Priss: ア、絶対これYoutubeにupするでしょう、それ。(Ah, you’ll definitively upload this on Youtube, aren’t you?)

Priss:  約束ですね。(It’s our promise, okay?)

Satsuki:  いいえ、いいえ、駄目です！Makes an X with his arms, laughing. 恥ずかしいですよね。(Noo, noo, that’s no good! It’s embarrassing, you know!)

Fan: If you were stuck on a deserted island, and could only pick one item with you– not a cellphone and not a boat, what would you pick?

Satsuki: Ahh. Probably I will bring iPhone.

Fans laugh.

Fan: No batteries though! The batteries will die.

Satsuki: Ah yes, yes.

Fan: The music industry, now more than ever, is very difficult because of the economy. And in Japan, is it also very difficult, especially for an artist that maybe would not tour, to just release an album and earn money? How difficult would it be in Japan, only for that?

[Sound problems again… ]

Satsuki: I think [my guess] the same. Unn.

Fan: Do you do your own makeup?

Satsuki: Yes.

Fans: Ahh!

Priss: For people who do not know your work, how do you explain what you do? For the people who do not know Visual kei, how do you explain it to them, as in, with the point of view of a professional?

Satsuki: Like lost, death, painful, dark. [I’m missing three more words, but with the sound problem, I can’t figure them out L I’m so mad…]

Fan: What is your favourite lyrics from any of the songs you’ve written? And could you sing it for us?

Satsuki: He sings a line from a Linkin Park song, then suddenly stops. Ah, not my song, not my song! Fans laugh.

Satsuki: He thinks hard for a long time. Hmmmmm. Hmmmm. I don’t know. Fans says “Aww~” 難しいです。難しい。(It’s difficult, difficult.)

Satsuki: Last question! He raises one finger up.

Fan: When you see yourself, and nobody else likes what you do, and say it’s too different, how would you deal with bullying, or being made fun of, in a hostile environment, when people don’t like you or how you see yourself? How do you defend yourself, and raise to the top?

Satsuki: Best words: never mind.
